RIVER ISLAND LONDON EAU DE TOILETTE: REVIEW

This perfume was bought to me as a Christmas present and ever since I first smelled it, I have been hooked. I have to say this is my most favourite perfume I have yet to own which shows not everything has to be a huge-named brand. I don't particularly believe in big named brands which will be obvious if you have read my previous beauty-based posts. It also fits into my student budget perfectly and I'm sure you'd love it just as much as I do.

A steal at only £10 for 30ml from River Island, you can't really go wrong! Apparently you can buy a 75ml version for £12 which I will definitely be on the lookout for! River Island describes the perfume as "Sweet and cheeky, you won’t resist this forbidden delight that gathers a mouthwatering fruity cocktail on top accompanied by addictive gourmand notes on the drydown. It is cool, effortless and a real statement fragrance for our chic girl." Even the description makes the perfume sound so sweet. I think it smells quite grown up so I think it is the perfect scent for a date - my boyfriend is always commenting on how nice I smell when we go out. I think it would be the perfect summer fragrance. It's fruity yet musky and a little floral but not in an overpowering way as I sometimes find that floral-based fragrances are too sickly-sweet. It is just the ultimate girl eau de toilette.

I wasn't even aware that River Island did perfumes but after looking at their website, they do offer a few different ones which I would love to try if they smell as good as London. Although it is a budget eau de toilette, the scent does last quite a while surprisingly - I can always still smell it after a night out 6 hours after spraying it on so it is well worth the money.

I think the bottle is really pretty too - a deep purple colour so it looks perfect on my dresser along with my many other sprays and perfumes. I would say it looks and smells more expensive than it actually is which I'm not going to complain about! At 30ml, it is a small bottle so it is handy if going on a weekend trip somewhere or for a trip home in my case as it won't take up much room. I would definitely recommend this as a gift or as a treat for yourself if you are running low on your perfume and need a cheap yet yummy-smelling buy.

Have you tried London? Have you tried any other River Island perfumes? Do you find budget perfumes better than expensive ones?
