I am a huge lover of makeup. Eye makeup is of particular importance to me - I take great time using liquid eyeliner to get perfect wings and lashings of mascara as well as a white eyeliner pencil on my waterline to make my eyes seem bigger and brighter. With makeup, you either focus on bold eyes or bold lips as both would be too much. Because I focus on the eyes, I need a nude-like colour on the lips rather than the more intense colours like red and purple (as this would probably make me look like a clown). However, I wanted a slightly different colour to nude just to add a little extra colour to my face.
As a huge Made in Chelsea fan, I have noticed during the latest series that a lot of the darker-haired girls seem to be wearing coral-coloured lipstick. After weeks of searching in Boots and Superdrug, I finally came across Barry M's lip paint 54 which is classed as peach but I would personally say it is more of a coral colour.
A steal at only £4.49 in Boots, this is the perfect colour for my skin tone without taking the main focus away from my eyes. Easy to apply, the natural moisturisers in the lipstick help make it glide onto the lips easily. I would however suggest adding a layer of lip balm or vaseline just to make the lipstick glide on even easier and I think it looks even better with an underlayer of vaseline first (this is also a good tip for protecting lips during the harsh winter cold and it keeps lips extra soft!) Long lasting, it rarely needs to be reapplied during the day so this product is a great investment. I have had this lipstick for over 2 months and would say I have only used a quarter of the stick so it is well worth the money!
I much prefer lipsticks to a gloss as glosses can sometimes end up being sticky and as all girls with long hair will know, if it's windy outside, lips with lipgloss on seem to attract hair which isn't a good look! This however doesn't happen with lipstick (to my delight!)
I would highly recommend this product to any brunettes out there who like to focus their makeup on the eyes but want to add a slight hint of colour to the lips.
