TOXIN KILLER JUICE

I have finally gotten round to writing a post about a juice that I have recently made by juicing. If you don't know what juicing is, you can read my previous post all about it here.

After trying and testing a few juices over the last couple of months, I have learnt that juicing is quite an acquired taste - I think it is going to take longer than I expected to get my taste buds used to tasting these natural foods over other non-natural and processed food that I am used to but I am willing to take this time if it is going to make me an overall healthier individual. Many of the juices I have tried contained sweet potatoes and beetroot which I absolutely love when they are part of a meal, however when they are used raw in a juice, they taste really earthy and muddy which my taste buds didn't agree with - not yet anyway.

But the juice I am going to write about in this post is really fresh and not too strong tasting meaning it is probably a good juice to begin with. This juice is known as the Toxin Killer - it sounds so healthy and powerful from just the name! It also contains ingredients that most households will probably already have as a lot of juices I have tried use ingredients that aren't in season for most of the year meaning it can be expensive and with me being a student, it needs to be as cheap as possible!

All you need is:
1 celery stick
1/2 a cucumber
1 handful of lettuce
3 apples (I tend to use golden delicious to stick in with the green-coloured theme)

The preparation is really easy. All you do is wash the celery stick, chop the cucumber into segments, cut the apples into quarters and remove the pips and of course wash the handful of lettuce. Simple! Put it all in the juicer and that's the juice made! I tend to drink mine as soon as it is made but adding a lemon along with the other ingredients and storing it in the fridge will make the juice just fine for the next day making it perfect if you're in a morning rush. The juice from these ingredients combined makes around 400ml which I personally think is an acceptable amount to drink.

Have you tried juicing? Will you try this recipe? Do your taste buds not agree with the taste of certain fruit and vegetables?
