DEADLINES

November and December means deadline central to most, if not all, University students.

Within the last 3 weeks, I have had 2 exams as well as 3 assignments to do. But oh no, it doesn't stop there. There are 2 more weeks of this semester left yet I have 2 more assignments to do and another exam. Fun times for me (and it's not even exam period yet!).

This means my stress levels are quite high. The first thing that comes into my mind when I'm stressed is alcohol (I'm sure other students will agree - I'm not an alcoholic I promise!) A night out with the girls last night was the perfect remedy to my stress, having a drink or two (or maybe six), letting my hair down as well having a good jig and a singalong is exactly what I needed to take my mind off things, even if it was for just a few short hours.

Cocktail buckets were on the menu last night and damn they were good! And lethal! I drank a fair bit last night so I was expecting a hangover when I woke up this morning, however, apart from the taste of vodka in my mouth I felt as fresh as a daisy. I've not had a hangover for at least a month after nights out. Either my body is becoming more tolerant to alcohol or I have some sort of witchy-spell on me, not that I'm complaining! This means I can go on a night out, even with the huge amounts of work I have to do, without feeling too guilty about it. Phew.

Fast food after a night out means a successful night and waking up with half of it still remaining in the morning is even better! I woke up to a half eaten McDonald's Chicken Legend sandwich this morning on my bedside table, to my huge delight, which was demolished within a matter of seconds. Yum.

Although these next 2 weeks sound like hell, they shouldn't just be pure torture for me as it is December in just 2 short days meaning the build up to Christmas can officially begin (and boy I'm excited!). Christmas is even more exciting to a student who no longer lives at home during semesters, as it means much needed family time, being in a toasty warm house compared to the current freezing cold student house that I reside in as well as amazing, unlimitless food. Not only do I have the excitement of Christmas to look forward to but I also have my birthday which is exactly 3 weeks before Christmas. I am turning the frightening age of 20 (old I know!).

So my plan is to get all my assignments done within a week so that I can fully embrace my birthday night out and spend my last week in Newcastle before heading back home for Christmas by Christmas shopping (which I have yet to start!) I have a busy couple of weeks ahead!

Are you a student with assessments due? How do you manage your time?
